Recommended Hotel

The closest hotel to the venue by far is the North Stafford Hotel, Station Road, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2AE

This hotel is around 100 metres from the venue, and has free parking.  It is directly opposite the train station.

We have negotiated a very favourable group rate with them, which is £59 per twin room per night, for a 2-night stay from Friday 19th August to Sunday 21st.

This rate is room only, and breakfast can be added to it if required.  They quoted me £69 per night for a room with breakfast, but you may have to remind them of that!

Also, it is slightly flexible, in that if you would rather stay the Saturday and Sunday nights instead, that can be arranged.

I am assured that this is a much better rate than you will be able to get online anywhere.

Hopefully, we'll get everyone staying at the same place, so the gaming may continue all weekend!

Sadly, it was not possible to get a group rate for a single night, but you can book single nights via the hotel directly.

Having had a quick browse round the internet, it looks like you can get rates close to this from the various discount hotel websites.  However, the more people we have that book it this way, the better position we'll be in to get a better rate next time!

Distance from Venue:   5 minute drive

This is the hotel we used for TCAD when it was at the Regent Theatre.  The closest hotel to Shire Games, but not so close to the TCAD venue. The best rates for this one will be online.

        Premier Inn, Trentham Gardens, ST4 8JG

Free Parking.

Distance from Venue:    10 minute drive. 

This is a newish hotel set in the large Garden Centre / Trendy Shopping Area Trentham Gardens.  A bit further from the venue, but you know what you get from a Premier Inn.  Rooms seem to be around £60, or a bit more with breakfast.

    Holiday Inn Express, Stanley Matthews Way, ST4 4EG

Free Parking.

Distance from Venue:    10 minute drive. 

Another fairly new hotel right next door to Stoke City's Britannia Stadium.  Another chain, so you know what you're getting here too, and rooms that seem to be about £50 with free internet and breakfast.
