Monday 29th November 2010
Now, it's almost two weeks after the event that I have finally had a chance to write this, so details will be very, very sketchy. Sorry about that.
Players:
Alex, Darren, David F-F, Jim, Neil C, Nick, Rachel, Sue
Games Played:
Darren:
(12 + 17) 29
Nick: (11 +
17) 28
Jim: (12 + 14) 26
Sue: (16 + 5) 21
Alex: (6 + 5) 11
Rachel: (3 + 2) 5
This is a fun and chaotic little starter, which actually ended up pretty close. Sue was miles ahead after the first round, but then kind of fell apart in the second round when it got a little trickier. Hmm ... That didn't come out quite like it was planned.
And then we were eight, and split into two groups ....
(I'd love to tell you what the two things in brackets are, but I can't remember)
David:
(29 + 13) 42
Neil: (25 +
13) 38
Nick: (30 + 0) 30
Sue: (11 + 4) 15
Another fun game, and another game that we'd played the day before in Edinburgh. David and Neil were the pair who hadn't played it before, and picked it up pretty quickly as you can see by the scores! Oddly, Sue and I had played this game pretty well the day before, and we really didn't know where we went wrong this time!
(Contracts + Buildings)
Rachel:
(39 + 10) 49 (21)
Darren: (44 +
5) 49 (4)
Jim: (30 + 17) 47
Alex:
(34.5 + 0) 34.5
This was the first time anyone had managed to play the "long" game with four players, and you can't really get a lot closer, with Rachel and Darren tying, but Rachel winning thanks to collecting the most time tokens that we've ever seen anyone collect!
David:
67
Nick: 63
Neil: 57
Sue: 56
A new game to all of us, and a very good one is was too. We all finished this one wanting to try it again with the extra two "corners" of the board that are missing from the basic game. A fun and clever game, and one that we will be getting to the table many more times.
And finally .....
Dominion & all its Expansions (I think)
Rachel:
36
Jim: 33
Darren: 25
Alex:
21
I know nothing about this one, sadly. But then, I've only really been winging it for the rest of the write-up too.
And that was it for another week. Thanks to those that came along.
