The first games night of 2010, and a pretty quiet one thanks to illnesses and weather ....

A fun little game which I'm sure will see a lot more action in the future, now that we have a proper version of it in the collection!

Sue spent the whole game saying that she didn't know what she was doing, which didn't make any of us feel any better when she won the thing! Darren tried a new tactic and bought three extra guys in the first round, grabbing a whole load of land, but then found it difficult to get the right buildings on that land, because the good ones didn't seem to appear early enough. Darren was also pretty unlucky with the fights, losing all but one despite being ahead in firepower. An excellent game, but a tough one!

This was the first game of the Ra sequel for all of us, and very enjoyable it was too! A tricky game, as it can be hard to decide which way up to place the tiles that come out of the bag, and it definitely has a different feel to it than original Ra. I got hit with the minus 5 penalty at the end for having the lowest suns (even though it was 20), but luckily my 4-storey pyramid gave me enough points for the win!
And that was all we managed to fit in this week. Hopefully we'll be a bit more back to normal next week!
