Courtesy of Darren:
Just six players in this week. Even Nick and Sue couldn't make it as they were using David's Christmas present to Faye or was it Faye's Christmas present to David. It's impressive that a couple can each buy the other tickets to the same show for Christmas!
Players:
Cathy, Darren, Haydn, Rachel, Rachel2, Suzanne
Keltis
- Der Weg der Steine
The first four in decided to play a quick game to see if anyone else was turning
up. There were rumours of several people arriving soon.
(Path + Stones + Bonus)
Hayden:
(19 -3 +9) 24
Darren:
(8 +6 +0) 14
Rachel:
(11 -3 +6) 14
Rachel2:
(2 +3 +1) 6
It was Rachel2's first time at this game and she suffered from starting too many
paths as the bonus on the tile looked useful. Rachel again suffered
negative points from stones.
Dominion
+ Dominion:
Intrigue + Dominion:
Seaside
We were now up to six, not necessarily the six we initially thought. We
decided on a game of 4 Dominion, 3 Intrigue and 3 Seaside cards.
Rachel2: 32
Rachel: 27
Haydn: 19
Darren: 18
Suzanne: 14
Cathy: 12
You get a lot of curses in a six player game. Haydn seemed to be initially
winning then Rachel but finally Rachel2 saw the benefit of having multiple
witches in her deck and therefore receiving less curses. This was a
unusual game of dominion with several of the players being strangely nice by not
leaving curses or victory cards on top of the deck when using the spy.
After
several weeks of playing the sequel, time to go back to the original Ken
Follett book.
Rachel: 50
Suzanne: 48 (3)
Cathy: 48 (2)
Darren: 45
Haydn: 42
Rachel2: 38
This was new to some players, so Rachel had to teach it. Obviously missing
out that important point of how to beat her. Apparently this is the first
time Suzanne hasn't won this game, despite making a good effort on the last turn
to catch up the 15 or so points she was behind Cathy, the leader, at that point.
That was all we had time for this week, Nick and Sue back next week.
