How to find Shire Games

Monday 24th November 2008

There were twelve of us in the pub this week.  However, this was over two weeks ago (at time of writing), so it's anyone's guess what happened really.

Players:

Darren, David F-F, David H, Haydn, Lesley, Mark H, Martin, Nick, Rachel, Rich, Sue, Tracey

Games Played:

Mow

The first five in played this fun little card game ....

Sue:    63
David H:    66
Rachel:    69
Darren:    73
Nick:    100

Ghost Stories (1)

We split into three groups of four players.  This was the choice of those determined to finally beat this tough cooperative game.

Lesley:
Martin:
Rich:
Tracey:        All lost.  Again.

Dominion (1)

Sue:    40
Nick:    37
David F-F:    25
Rachel:    24

"Starter" set of cards.  Sue remains unbeaten at this game.

Ghost Stories (2)

Lesley:
Martin:
Rich:
Tracey:        All won!  With the magnificent score of 18 points!

Dominion (2)

David F-F:    34
Rachel:    31
Sue:    31
Nick:    22

"Interactive" set of cards.  Sue no longer remains unbeaten at this game. I did very poorly. Thieves are over-rated.

Le Havre

David H:    173
Darren:    142
Mark H:    132
Haydn:    106

This was the messiest game of Le Havre that we'd seen. A good win for David though, in a game that took pretty much all night.

Diamonds Club

David F-F:    74
Nick:    62
Rachel:    61
Sue:    58

One of the surprise hits of Essen for me, and a good win for David again.

Master Builder

Martin:    $104,000
Tracey:    $100,000
Rich:    $89,000
Lesley:    $34,000

I have no idea what this one is/was about.  I must remember to ask someone ....

Hoppladi Hopplada

Nick:    339
Sue:    228
Rachel:    205
Haydn:    160
David H:    96
Darren:    60
David F-F:    0

A fun closer, which - pleasingly - David F-F scored nil!

And that was it for that week.  Thanks to those who came along.
