Despite our warnings about there not being enough room for everyone, we had a bunch of people in tonight! However, I'm writing this a week after the fact, and Sue and I were busy preparing for The Cast are Dice to pay much attention, so I'm afraid this is pretty much a scores-only report:
Players:
Albrecht, Darren, Dave F, James, Lena, Mark L, Mark P, Neil, Nick, Rachel, Roj, Stewart, Sue
Games Played:
Drakon (1)
The first four in were quick to grab a copy of this favourite opener / filler / closer .....
Dave:
10
Roj: 7
Stewart: 4
James: 2
Drakon (2)
And again .....
Rachel:
10
Roj: 8
James: 7
Dave: 5
Stewart: 4
Darren: 1
With the designers in, it seemed a good time for an 8 player game of this excellent race game ...
Lena/Albrecht:
(0 + 50 + 30) 80
Dave: (30 + 30 + 20) 80
Rachel: (50 + 0 + 0) 50
Roj: (0 + 0 + 50) 50
Stewart: (20 + 10 + 0) 30
James: (10 + 20 + 0) 30
Darren: (0 + 0 +
10) 10
We were now ten players, so six went off to the farmyard ...
Rachel:
35
Neil: 34
James: 32
Dave: 30
Roj: 23
Mark P: 16
Die Säulen von Venedig
And this is what the other four did ....
Stewart:
81
Mark L: 68
Darren: 67
Nick: 59
Stewart managed to get on the gondola while having the gondolier in his hand ... a smart move!
Dave:
40
Mark P: 39
Roj: 37
Rachel: 26
James: 25
Neil: 23
And finally, a nine player game of Saboteur
Nick:
8
Sue: 8
James: 5
Rachel: 5
Mark L: 4
Stewart: 4
Darren: 3
Roj: 3
Dave: 2
There was a bit of a false start in this one, as I arrived just as the game was starting to find myself the only honest dwarf amongst 8 saboteurs. Luckily, I spotted this before being made to look too foolish! Got my revenge though when the game started properly, as Sue and I jointly wiped the floor with the lot of them.
And that was it. The preparations for the convention were all done, and we had reached midnight.
