How to find Shire Games

Tuesday 24th January 2006

We did it again! Two consecutive weeks with a total of three people! Not quite sure where everyone decided to go (again), especially after last Thursday's cancellation due to a power failure ... oh well.

Players:

Mark, Nick, Sue

Games Played:

Metro

Mark, Sue and I were the only people who turned up again, and so we started the same way as last week (and with the same results!):

Mark:    86
Nick:    68
Sue:    61

Early on, I thought I had a chance in this one, but by the end of it Mark had maintained his unbeaten Metro record by being the only one of us who managed to connect to the centre of the board more than once (I think!).

Verflixxt!

Still expecting others to turn up, we went for another quickie to kill some time.

Sue:    31 - 9 = 22
Mark:    27 - 6 = 21
Nick
:    24 - 7 = 17

Again, I looked good early on. In fact, I think I looked too good, as I got completely hammered in the second half of the game, allowing Sue and Mark to battle for the win.

Elasund

We decided that the three of us were all we were going to get, and so we started a longer game, although it turned out to play fairly quickly.

Mark:    10
Nick:    8
Sue
:    5

Sue did manage to get up to 8 cubes at one point, before I removed a couple of her buildings. However, by the time I had saved up enough cards to do so, she was no longer the threat as Mark had built in a clever fashion, making it almost impossible to destroy what he had built. I started the church, but got a choice of two pieces which didn't help me in the slightest! And don't even get me started on the dice rolls ....

And after that one, we decided to have an early night.
