Tuesday 3rd January 2006
A quiet night for the fist one after the break, with just 6 of us in total. Hardly any games played, as we had pretty much pre-decided to have a game of Railroad Tycoon (a Christmas present for a couple of the gang). With three of us new to the game, this took a little longer than expected!
Players:
Gordon, Jean, Jon, Nick, Sue, Tim
Games Played:
Phoenix
Sue and I were first to arrive, and so we had time for a couple of quick games while we were waiting. This was the first ...
Nick:
21
Sue:
9
I managed to win the first two rounds, limiting Sue to not many points. However, Sue took the third round, but I managed to get all of the colours while she did it!
The Gardens of the Alhambra
Still on our own, we started on another game, which was the cue for everyone else to turn up and have to wait for us!
Nick:
96
Sue:
93
This one was really close all the way round. It came down to the final couple of tiles, where I managed to pick up a few points with my one, while Sue was stuck with a spot where the two non-players had the majority all sewn up.
Railroad Tycoon
We were informed that our sixth player was on his way, and so we set up the game ready for his arrival. Despite the time-saving there, this still took us the rest of the evening to play!
Nick:
63
Gordon: 59
Tim: 45
Jon: 43
Jean: 30
Sue: 28
Well .... I never expected to win that! I decided to go heavily into debt, rather than be restricted on my options because i was skint. Therefore, by the end of the game, I had issued 13 shares, but luckily I had managed to complete my "mission" of having the longest train to sneak in front of Gordon by a few points.
And that was all we had time for. Thanks to everyone for coming out once more.
