This is an excellent game of resource-gathering and -spending, with several different paths to victory.

Players start with a tribe of five, and - through sending their guys out to various places on the map each round - hunt food, gather wood, brick, stone and gold, plant fields, expand their tribe, make tools and build buildings.

Of course, all players are trying to do the same things at the same time, which isn't always possible!

And then a poor dice roll may force you to change your plans a little, while a lucky roll will keep you supplied for longer than you expected!

The buildings give you points immediately, but the cards you collect give you a score at the end of the game, so no one is quite sure who is in front until everything is revealed.

Not a game of luck, despite the dice involved, but more a game of clever placement and risk-management.
