Blood & Sand
Designer: Richard Berg
Publisher: Worthington Games
Time: 120 to 300 minutes
This war game covers the Campaign for North Africa in the Second World War, featuring Montgomery for the Allies and Rommel for the Axis, amongst others of course.
The game will be easily picked up by anyone who has played a war game, with units showing how many and what kind of dice that can be rolled on their behalf.
The cards can be used (or not, if you prefer) in a variety of ways: To bring reinforcements, build fortifications, buy more cards, or rally troops.
The game includes two scenarios: Tobruk (April to December 1941) and Crusader (November '41 to January '42), as well as a full campaign game running from April 1941 to December 1942.
A scenario will take you 2 to 3 hours to play, while the full campaign will be closer to 5 to 6 hours.
Worthington Games rank this one as Complexity: 4 out of 10.
