Designer: Andrea Chiarvesio, Luca Iennaco
Publisher: Stratelibri
Players: 3 to 5
Ages: 12+
Time: 90 minutes
This is the new (for 2011) game from the designers of the excellent Kingsburg.
There are no dice in this game however, but if you know the above game, you'll recognise a couple of other features.
Players start the game with three priests available to them on their player mat, and this can be extended to five as the game goes on.
When it is your turn, you choose one of the ten Gods to worship, and then all other players have a chance to follow you to the temple.
Each God grants a different favour, with the person who went there first getting a more powerful benefit from those that followed.
You can increase your culture, your army, your population, or increase your production in the three resources: Venison, Fish and Grain.
Each player also has a deck of 33 "building" cards which can be built at any time. Additionally, there are 12 unique buildings on the board that can only be built once per game.
It is the combination of which buildings you choose to build that will win or lose the game for you.
Like Kingsburg, there will appear to be some buildings and strategies that seem much more powerful than others at first, but you'll soon discover ways to counter these!
