German Game of the Year 1995. US Game of the Year 1996. This is the game that really kick-started the board game resurgence. Settlers is an excellent example of a new-style board game, with loads of interesting decisions to be made, some trading and deal-making with other players, a variable board which is a bit different every time, some dice-rolling, and some empire-building. One of the best. The family will want to play this again & again.

This is Mayfair's 2007 Edition of the game, which comes in a larger box with all new artwork (different on every tile), as well as a hexagonal border to hold all the tiles in place.
